I visited Kenya for the second time in August 2025, the first time I visited with my wife was in 2007 for our honeymoon. A safari in Africa is a totally unique experience and we wanted to share this with our two teenage boys as a holiday they would never forget as they head into adulthood.
This time we stayed in two locations, on Diani Beach in Mombasa at the Diamonds Leisure Resort and at the Salt Lick Safari Lodge in the Taita Hills.
We saw most of the main animals and birds, the leopard remains elusive for us…
Before I share the photos I would say Kenya seems to have moved on a bit since 2007 and there is new infrastructure (railway and roads) between Mombasa and Nairobi. Everyone was amazingly friendly, the food was great and we had a really wonderful time.
